FAQs

  • 80% of cut flowers are imported.

Most of the cut flowers here in the US are grown in South America. With such a long way to travel the flowers are already a week + old when they arrive in the store.

They tend to be doused in a variety of harmful herbicides and pesticides, chemicals that are not safe in your home.

These imported flowers use a tremendous amount of the Earth’s resources-water, fossil fuels- and create huge amounts of emissions, because they have to be flown and trucked thousands of miles.

  • Our first priority is our farm’s ecosystem. We do not spray or use any herb/pesticides on our farm, even organic approved sprays.

Instead we work with the farm’s community, a whole host of characters such as predatory insects, carnivorous birds, and biologically alive soil. All these friends of the farm help keep the damaging forces in check.

The upshot for you is that the flowers in your home are safe, perfuming the air with heavenly scents, not off-gassing noxious chemicals. When you buy flowers from Tova Cotton you are supporting a farm that’s building habitat, not destroying it.

  • We do not do deliveries, but we would love for you to pick up on the farm or join us at Mineral Farmers Market on Saturday’s, 8 am - Noon.

  • We are SO happy you asked!! Cut flowers do require a bit of care, for maximum vase life.

*Keep them out of the heat and out of the sun.

*Refresh their water every few days, trimming their stems a bit with each water change.

*Wash out the vessel you have the bouquet in. Flowers thrive in a vase thats clean enough to drink out of.

*Most cut flowers will last a week, or longer!

*You may have to pull out a flower or 2 from the arrangement here and there, but you can still enjoy the rest of the arrangement!

  • Well, most flowers should last at least a week. See FAQ above on caring for your blooms. BUT, bad things can happen to good blooms. Sad, but true.

IF this happens, contact us! We want our flowers to delight not disappoint.

    We’ll deliver a replacement.

  • We endeavor to provide a wide variety of blooms throughout the growing season.

In spring months you may expect snapdragons, larkspur, sweet william, peonies, agrostemma, batchelor buttons, sweet peas, etc. to be included in your arrangement.

Heading further into our warm summer months (ok, hot) you may expect dahlias, roses, calendula, cosmos, marigold, nigella, zinnia, sunflowers, lisianthus, black eyed susan, etc.

We are committed to providing you with the most gorgeous flowers that are in season at that moment!
